It’s been a while since my last update, and I wish I had better news. Today marks the end of day 97, and we’re still in the same limbo as day one, praying for news and hoping for some closure.

I’ve reached the limits of what I can do to gather information from the hospitals. I wish I could physically check each floor, but that’s not possible. I also wish I could find someone who knows which nursing homes are connected for aftercare, especially those that accept uninsured patients like my mom. I know many of you are trying to help as well.

I’ve shared these concerns with the detective on the case. He and the private investigator initially thought hospitals and nursing homes wouldn’t be viable options, believing that they always contact law enforcement for identification. However, after learning from a hospital security staff member that some patients have remained as John or Jane Does for months, the detective has come around. He has since reached out to various hospitals to confirm the status of any elderly patients or Jane Does.

Unfortunately, he has faced similar challenges in getting cooperation. So far, he’s received responses from:

Thorek Memorial

University of Chicago

Sinai

Rush

Advocate

Northwestern

If anyone knows how to navigate the hospital system, particularly for patients like my mom who have no insurance or ID, and are uncommunicative and confused about their identity, please reach out to me. I’m also open to any suggestions on next steps, as I’m feeling discouraged and overwhelmed.

I’ve been following two elderly missing persons cases—one 85, missing over Labor Day, and another 78 from Country Club Hills—both sadly found deceased. While it’s heartbreaking, at least their families have closure. It makes me wonder why I can’t get closer to the truth. What am I missing?

Many of you may also be feeling fatigued, and some might have moved on. But please, continue to spread the word about Dolma’s disappearance. We need to ensure people know she’s still missing so we can remain vigilant. Thank you!
